We are thrilled with top Ofsted accolade

We have received the top Ofsted rating for the second time in four years. We were rated 'outstanding' by Government inspectors during our recent inspection with all aspects of our childcare being praised. Our nursery was described as a 'busy nursery with a vibrant atmosphere' and staff were said to be 'inspirational' and 'passionate and dedicated' about their work and motivated to help children make 'excellent progress'.

Our nursery also has close ties with parents, carers and other agencies, and this was seen as a 'major stength' with indivdual guidance given to help children's learning.

Reporting inspector Mary Kelly said "Excellent trusting relationships between practitioners and children are evident because they take the time to listen to children's conversations and aspirations with interest and sensitivity."

There is a 'superb balance' between indoor and outdoor play with children directing their own play said Ms Kelly who described the children's behaviour as 'exemplary', with youngsters spontaneously comforting others who are upset.

Ms Kelly added: "Sustained ongoing improvement and well-targeted future plans are evident with staff having the ambition to provide high quality care and education for all the children".

Gemma Rushton, our pre-school leader said the staff were 'thrilled' with the outstanding Ofsted rating for the second inspection running. "We are a happy team with happy children. We are passionate and dedicated about our children and their families. This results in high quality care and education for every child."

The day Cbeebies came to Coogee

Ben and Ajeet were chosen from Coogee Nursery in Streetly to be filmed by Cbeebies for the programme Same Smile. The BBC filmed them in their own homes and with their friends at nursery.

The programme was all about food. Ajeet made some food and took it to the temple, whilst Ben helped the Chef make spaghetti bolognase at his restaurant on Buzzards Valley Vineyard.

At nursery everyone had a great time tossing pancakes, running pancake races and decorating their pancakes.

The children loved meeting Nisha the presenter and her pandas Mish, Moosh and Mogo. They can't wait for it to be televised in approximately a months time.

Trip to Cannock Chase

Our nursery trip out on Friday 20th May to Cannock Chase was a great success. We all went on two coaches with our families, teddies and picnics.

We had fun going on a teddy hunt. We made dens, found frogs and insects and collected fir cones. After our picnic outside on the terrace we enjoyed playing on the large play equipment in the forest.
